DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT GUWAHATI – BOMDILA (TRAVEL DISTANCE: 330 KM, TRAVEL TIME: 8-9 HOURS APPROX)
Welcome to North East! Your adventure begins with your arrival at Guwahati Airport, and takes you on a scenic escape into the serene beauty of Bomdila. As you leave the city behind, the roads wind their way through thick forests and the air starts to feel fresher, cooler, a welcome.
Along the way, you’ll pass through small towns, each with its unique charm. Stop for a moment to sip some tea at a roadside stall and marvel at the changing landscape. With each mile, the surroundings transform — from dense greenery to mist-covered hills. Upon reaching Bomdila in the late afternoon, you’ll feel the cool mountain breeze. The town, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, offers a glimpse of traditional Tibetan culture. You can visit the Bomdila Monastery in the evening, where the calmness of the place will surely leave you feeling peaceful.

DAY 2: BOMDILA TO TAWANG VIA SELA PASS (TRAVEL DISTANCE: 180 KM, TRAVEL TIME: 7-8 HOURS)
Today, you’re off to Tawang, the gem of Arunachal Pradesh. The drive itself is an experience that’ll leave you spellbound. En route, you’ll cross the famous Sela Pass, situated at an altitude of 13,700 feet. It’s a place where the cold wind cuts through your clothes, but you won’t mind as you take in panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks around you. You’ll notice colorful prayer flags fluttering in the air, adding to the mystical aura of the place. The Sela Lake, a serene water body surrounded by alpine forests, is a place you’ll want to pause and take in its beauty.
Continuing on, make sure to stop by the Nuranang Waterfalls, which will captivate you with its thundering roar and the mist that rises from its depths. The drive becomes even more poignant as you approach JaswantGarh War Memorial, a solemn tribute to the brave soldier who fought valiantly during the 1962 war. It’s a place that stirs your emotions, as you pay respect to the sacrifice of the soldiers.

DAY 3: BUMLA PASS AND TAWANG MONASTERY (BUMLA DISTANCE: 37 KM | TRAVEL TIME: 2 HOURS ONE WAY APPROX)
A thrilling day awaits, starting with a visit to the Bumla Pass. Nestled along the Indo-China border, this pass is a blend of natural beauty and military significance. The road leading here is rugged, and the altitude is high, so the journey might be challenging. But when you reach the top, the panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges will reward your perseverance.
Next, head towards Sangetsar Lake (Madhuri Lake), a secluded and peaceful place, surrounded by tall trees and rocky mountains. The serene waters here seem untouched by time, offering a chance for quiet reflection. Following this, you will visit PTSO Lake, another breathtaking spot that’s perfect for photographs and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.
Afterward, you’ll visit Tawang Monastery, the largest in India, perched on a hill overlooking the town. The monastery’s spiritual aura will transport you to another world, where the silence is punctuated only by the sound of prayer wheels spinning. The monks’ chants and the sight of their traditional attire will make you feel connected to centuries of history. Return back to your hotel, rest and relax for the evening.

DAY 4: TAWANG TO DIRANG VIA SELA TUNNEL (TRAVEL DISTANCE: 140 KM, TRAVEL TIME: 5-6 HRS)
Today’s drive takes you from Tawang to Dirang, and you’ll traverse through the newly inaugurated Sela Tunnel, which will cut down the travel time and make the journey a bit smoother. The tunnel, carved through the mighty Sela Range, is an engineering marvel, and as you pass through it, you’ll be in awe of the engineering feat.
Dirang awaits you with its cool, calm charm. The town is nestled between green hills and the Dirang River, giving it a picturesque, almost dreamlike quality. You can relax and soak in the tranquility of the surroundings.

DAY 5: DIRANG-SANGTI VALLEY & MANDALA TOP (TRAVEL DISTANCE: 40-50 KM, TRAVEL TIME: 3-4 HRS)
Savor a leisurely day of exploration. Head out to Mandala Top, a place that provides panoramic views of the entire valley. From here, you can see the majestic peaks surrounding Dirang, and it’s the perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers. The view from the top will make you realize how small you are in this vast world.
Next, you’ll head to Sangti Valley, a place where the beauty of nature is so untouched that it feels like a secret haven. The valley is famous for its charming Tibetan village, where you might even spot some rare black-necked cranes if you’re lucky. Walking through the lush valley, surrounded by high peaks, you’ll experience a sense of peace that’s hard to find in the more touristy areas.

DAY 6: DIRANG-GUWAHATI (TRAVEL DISTANCE: 320 KM, TRAVEL TIME: 8-9 HRS)
After a fulfilling few days in the mountains, it’s time to head back to Guwahati. The drive will be long, but the beauty of the hills will accompany you all the way. As you descend from the heights of the Himalayas, you’ll pass through a medley of landscapes, each more beautiful than the last. The bustling city of Guwahati will feel both familiar and a bit distant, as the calmness of the mountains stays with you.

Note:
- If an additional person or child is traveling with you, they will share the room with you on a mattress.
- Only one extra mattress/bed is permitted per room.

- The vehicle will only be available as per the itinerary and is not at your disposal.
- Most of the time, Arunachal Pradesh experiences load shedding. While some hotels in Tawang and Dirang have power backup, it’s important to keep in mind that heavy electrical devices such as geysers and electric kettles may not work during power outages. Additionally, Guest Houses and Homestays in Bomdila/Bhalukpong or any other remote village do not have generators, so power disruptions are possible.
- To ensure your devices stay charged, we recommend bringing a power bank.
- Hotel rooms in this region tend to be smaller than those in metropolitan cities, and air conditioning may not always be available. Some hotels and resorts may also not offer TVs in the rooms.
- Hotel services here might differ from those in larger cities, but our service providers will make every effort to accommodate your needs during your stay.

Any purchase made through Destinationbuddies related to a booking is subject to these terms and conditions. By making a booking, it is assumed that the person making the reservation has accepted these terms on behalf of everyone listed in the booking.
No changes to these terms and conditions by our employees or agents will be valid unless authorized in writing by the appropriate authority at Destinationbuddies.
Booking and Payment
All bookings for tours and expeditions require a 50% advance payment, with the remaining balance to be paid before the trip begins. Payments can be made either in cash or via online bank transfer. Details for the company’s bank account will be provided for the advance deposit.
Cancellation of Booking by the Client
If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your trip/ booking, please send us an intimation in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective form the date of receiving your request to cancel the tour/service in written. The Cancellation charges are as follows:

Alteration of Itineraries
The agency reserves the right to alter or modify any of its itineraries, in the events of circumstances beyond its control.
Cancellation of Tour by the Company
We will not cancel your tour unless we are forced to do so by unusual or unforeseen circumstances, such as war, civil or political unrest or what is usually beyond our control.
If we cancel your tour we will refund all payments made to us in respect of the tour cost, but we shall not be liable to refund you for incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking like visa fee or expenses like bank charge at our end while receiving your payment or bank service charge while transferring amount to third party.
Assumption of risk
Your booking is accepted on the understanding that you realize the hazards involved in this kind of tour, as most of our tour/expeditions may involves going to rural areas where there are limited facilities. Destinationbuddies, or any of its employees or agents, Will Not Be Liable for delay, loss or damage to personal property, personal injury, illness or death which might occur.
Modification of Terms and Conditions
The Terms and Conditions may be amended or modified Destinationbuddies at any time without notice. It is therefore essential that you consult the Terms and Conditions prior to making each and every booking, particularly in order to ensure what provisions are in operation in case they have changed since the last time an order was placed by you.
Only those who have accepted the Terms and Conditions and affirmatively indicated their consent to be bound by the Terms and Conditions may make a booking with Destinationbuddies. Without this acceptance any order is subject to cancellation at any time.
