03 NIGHTS & 04 DAYS | Explore Meghalaya

4 Days
DAY 1: WELCOME TO MEGHALAYA – THE LAND OF CLOUDS! (150 KM | 4-5 HOURS)

Your journey begins as you arrive at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, where the crisp, fresh air of the Northeast instantly welcomes you. Buckle up for a scenic drive to Sohra (Cherrapunjee), the land of misty waterfalls and mystical caves.

En route, we take a short but magical pause at Umiam Lake Viewpoint. As you step out and soak in the panoramic beauty of this vast azure lake surrounded by rolling green hills, the cool breeze whispers tales of Meghalaya’s untouched beauty. A perfect spot to stretch, click some postcard-worthy photos, and grab a cup of hot chai before continuing towards Sohra (Cherrapunjee).

As we reach Sohra, get ready to witness nature in its purest form.

Overnight Stay in Sohra.

DAY 2: EXPLORE SOHRA (CHERRAPUNJEE)

After breakfast check out, and head to the mystical landscapes and lush greenery of Sohra, famously known as Cherrapunjee. Visit the mystical Garden of Caves, a tranquil spot adorned with waterfalls and rock formations. Stroll through the ancient Arwah Cave, famed for its fossil-rich limestone interiors, and gaze upon the iconic Nohkalikai Falls, cascading from a height of over 1,100 feet. Walk through the wonder-filled Mawsmai Cave, an easy exploration of nature’s artistry. End your day with a serene walk to the Umkar Living Root Bridge, a marvel of human ingenuity and nature’s magic. By evening, settle into a peaceful retreat in Sohra and reflect on the day’s awe-inspiring wonders.

Overnight Stay in Sohra.

Note: Waterfalls will be less active due to non rainy season.

DAY 3: CRYSTAL CLEAR RIVERS & THE CLEANEST VILLAGE IN ASIA!

Rise early for another breathtaking day as we leave Sohra (Cherrapunjee) and head toward Dawki, home to the Umngot River, famous for its crystal-clear waters. Ever seen a boat floating on an invisible surface? Well, today you will!

As you glide over the emerald-green water in a traditional wooden boat, the view beneath is so clear you can count the pebbles at the bottom. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and misty hills, this is an experience that will stay with you forever.

Next, we drive towards Mawlynnong—a tiny village that has earned the title of ‘Asia’s Cleanest Village’. Walking through its flower-lined paths, bamboo dustbins at every corner, and the warm smiles of the Khasi people make it evident why.

Just a short trek away lies the Single Root Bridge, another masterpiece of nature and tradition, woven over centuries. Unlike its double-decker sibling, this one is shorter but just as magical—a perfect spot for some quiet reflection amidst nature.

As the evening sets in, we make our way to Shillong, the ‘Scotland of the East’. The drive is scenic, with rolling green hills, mist-covered valleys, and a sky painted in hues of orange and pink.

Overnight Stay in Shillong – Take a stroll down Police Bazaar for some local food and souvenirs before calling it a night

Note:

  • Today’s journey is long, and road conditions are currently under construction. Expect traffic congestion due to boulder-loaded trucks supplying materials to Bangladesh.
  • The crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River will become muddy due to rainfall, and boating activities on the river will depend on the weather conditions, during pre-monsoon & rainy season.
DAY 4:  DEPARTURE

After breakfast, check out with a heart full of memories, laughter, and the promise to return, we drop you at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station.
