Day 01: Arrival – Gateway to the Land of Thunder Dragon– Phuentsholing (Travel distance 190 Km | 5 Hrs approx.)

The moment you arrive at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, a sense of anticipation stirs in the air. With the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas unfolding before you, your journey begins.

Your drive to Phuentsholing, the vibrant border town of Bhutan, winds through lush landscapes, misty roads, and charming villages. Feel the rhythm of change as you cross into a realm where time slows down, and the whispers of ancient monasteries begin to echo.

As you reach Phuentsholing, you’re greeted by a fusion of Indian and Bhutanese cultures. After check-in, unwind at your hotel and take a gentle stroll through the bustling streets. Notice the calmness in people’s eyes, the serenity in their smiles — Bhutan has already begun to work its magic.

Day 02: Ascending into Serenity – Phuentsholing to Thimphu (Altitude: 2,320m | 150 km | 5 Hrs approx.)

Wake up to a peaceful morning, and after breakfast, get your permits sorted — a gateway into a kingdom like no other. The road to Thimphu is a journey into the clouds.

En route, visit the tranquil Kharbandi Gompa, where vivid murals and fluttering prayer flags whisper sacred stories. Drive past the mystical town of Gedu, perched high at 9,000 ft, offering soul-soothing views.

Pause at Wankha waterfalls, where the cascade sings nature’s lullaby, and capture the dramatic confluence at Chojum, where two mighty rivers merge into an eternal dance.

As you ascend towards Thimphu, Bhutan’s quaint capital, your heart fills with a mix of calm and wonder. Check into your hotel and take a moment to soak in the crisp mountain air.

Day 03: Culture, Faith, and Heritage – Thimphu to Paro (Distance 50 Km | 2 Hrs approx.)

After a warm Bhutanese breakfast, it’s time to discover Thimphu’s soul. Begin at the majestic Kuensel Phodrang – the giant Buddha Dordenma standing tall against the valley, watching over the city with eternal grace. Let its stillness reflect in you.

Pay homage at the National Memorial Chorten, where locals spin prayer wheels with devotion. Explore the Folk Heritage Museum, a time capsule preserving Bhutan’s rustic past.

Later, enjoy panoramic views from Sangaygang View Point, then visit the sacred Changangkha Monastery, and meet the gentle, elusive Takin, Bhutan’s national animal, at the nearby preserve.

By evening, marvel at the grandeur of Tashichho Dzong, glowing under golden lights — a fortress of kings and spiritual leaders.

As the sun dips, you’re driven to Paro, a valley of legends and breathtaking beauty. Arrive, check in, and breathe in the mystery of this sacred land.

Day 04: The Enchanted Valley – Explore Paro

Option 1: Local Sightseeing


Start your day by wandering through Paro’s spiritual gems. Walk across Nya-mey Zam, the traditional cantilever bridge. Visit the peculiar Dungtse Lhakhang, and pay respects at the ancient Druk Choeding temple.

Marvel at the Ringpung Dzong, an architectural marvel standing guard over the valley. Then stand in awe at the Paro Taktsang Viewpoint – the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, clinging impossibly to a cliff, beckoning the brave.

End the day at Ta Dzong, a former watchtower turned museum, holding treasures from Bhutan’s past. The evening is yours – wander through Paro’s charming markets, perhaps sipping butter tea and collecting handmade souvenirs.

Option 2: Full Day Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery


For the spirited and soulful – today is the Tiger’s Nest Hike. The trail leads through pine forests adorned with prayer flags, where every step is a spiritual journey. After hours of hiking, you’ll stand before the Taktsang Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliffside – a place that transcends description.

Feel your heartbeat echo in the silence. The view, the solitude, the air – it transforms you.

Day 05: Farewell to the Mountains – Paro to Phuentsholing (Distance 150 Km | 4 Hrs approx.)

With the scent of pine still lingering, bid a soft goodbye to Paro. En route, stop by the Paro Airport View Point – one of the world’s most dramatic runways nestled in the valley.

A brief pause at the local market offers a last chance to pick up trinkets, prayer wheels, or Bhutanese textiles. By evening, return to Phuentsholing, where the journey began.

Let the day settle with a delicious dinner and a heart full of reflections. It’s more than just a trip — it’s a part of you now.

Day 06: Departure – Until We Meet Again

(Phuentsholing – IXB/NJP | 190 km | 5 Hrs approx.)

As dawn breaks, the final leg of your journey begins. With a camera full of memories and a heart full of peace, drive back to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station.

Bhutan won’t say goodbye. It stays with you — in your calm breath, in your softer gaze, and in your slower steps.
